ABOUT ME

Hello! My Name is Almira Wicaksono. I started this website when I was just 14 years old. As I am writing right now, I am still 14 and in my last year in middle school. This is a passion project of mine and I am really happy that I have the opportunity and privilege to do this project. The reason why I am building this website is because I want to bring back the art of Batik to the latest generation! I find Batik fascinating and beautiful, and it's a shame to know that it's dying in my generation. People these days don't collect fabrics anymore and rather buy cheap ones from online stores that don't give effort towards them, and I plan to solve this problem by trying to showcase Batik in a way that my generation would understand and would love to learn about more.
